Today I took Josiah to the Circus!
Dustin & I gave him tickets as a part of his Valentine's Day present. Josiah was so happy to go. He took his circus binoculars from 3 years ago & his clown nose from home. When we got there, he bought cotton candy (which came with a circus hat) & a Ringling Brothers sword. Evidently he needed one more sword to complete his collection.
Josiah was so excited! I couldn't tell if he was more excited for the show to start or for the cotton candy to start melting in his mouth. He even shared some with me.
The show began & it was awesome!
We loved how they used lights to enhance the show.
Josiah loved seeing all of the animals, but especially the tiny pony.
Josiah sat on the edge of his seat during this part. He couldn't believe a man would actually throw knives at a woman for fun...or that a woman would stand still while he did it. Then, he was really set back when the man spun the woman around & lit the knives on fire. At least they announced for children not to try this at home. Ha!
The acrobats were super cool, but Josiah enjoyed seeing how strong the muscle man was.
He was shocked that a woman could be on his shoulders without him touching her. He was truly amazed that two women could swing on the ends of a log while he held the log.
Then this part happened. The muscle man pulled out a large silver ball cage. Josiah instantly shouted, "Mom...he's pulling out the Death Star!" If you are a Star Wars fan, you know what he meant. I think everyone around us, including me, laughed so hard we cried.
Two motorcycles drove around inside "The Death Star" while a woman stood in the middle. Josiah says she has lost her mind. Then a third motorcycle joined them. While the three were driving around, the lights went out & their costumes & motorcycles glowed in the dark.
Seeing the Elephants was very exciting for Josiah. He couldn't wait for them to come out & do some tricks. He loved the way they sat up like people do.
The tightrope was a little nerve racking. This crazy woman let these men walk on top of her & then balanced on one hand while they rode bikes across. Crazy!?!?
The finale was exciting & Josiah stood up & clapped as soon as it was over.
He asked if we could come again & bring Ethan next time. So sweet!
We had an amazing Mother/Son day at the Circus!
