Circus!!

Today I took Josiah to the Circus!

Dustin & I gave him tickets as a part of his Valentine's Day present.  Josiah was so happy to go.  He took his circus binoculars from 3 years ago & his clown nose from home.  When we got there, he bought cotton candy (which came with a circus hat) & a Ringling Brothers sword.  Evidently he needed one more sword to complete his collection.

Josiah was so excited!  I couldn't tell if he was more excited for the show to start or for the cotton candy to start melting in his mouth.  He even shared some with me.

The show began & it was awesome!

We loved how they used lights to enhance the show.

Josiah loved seeing all of the animals, but especially the tiny pony.

Josiah sat on the edge of his seat during this part.  He couldn't believe a man would actually throw knives at a woman for fun...or that a woman would stand still while he did it.  Then, he was really set back when the man spun the woman around & lit the knives on fire.  At least they announced for children not to try this at home.  Ha!

The acrobats were super cool, but Josiah enjoyed seeing how strong the muscle man was.

He was shocked that a woman could be on his shoulders without him touching her.  He was truly amazed that two women could swing on the ends of a log while he held the log.

Then this part happened.  The muscle man pulled out a large silver ball cage.  Josiah instantly shouted, "Mom...he's pulling out the Death Star!"  If you are a Star Wars fan, you know what he meant.  I think everyone around us, including me, laughed so hard we cried.

Two motorcycles drove around inside "The Death Star" while a woman stood in the middle.  Josiah says she has lost her mind.  Then a third motorcycle joined them.  While the three were driving around, the lights went out & their costumes & motorcycles glowed in the dark.

Seeing the Elephants was very exciting for Josiah.  He couldn't wait for them to come out & do some tricks. He loved the way they sat up like people do.

The tightrope was a little nerve racking.  This crazy woman let these men walk on top of her & then balanced on one hand while they rode bikes across.  Crazy!?!?

The finale was exciting & Josiah stood up & clapped as soon as it was over.
He asked if we could come again & bring Ethan next time.  So sweet!

We had an amazing Mother/Son day at the Circus!

Whole Milk!

Well the time has come to start Whole Milk.  We are slowly weaning him from formula to whole milk by mixing the two together & switching the percentages of milk/formula every few days.  So far, Ethan is doing really well.  He is, however, attached to the bottle & isn't wanting to make the switch to the sippy cup.  So, we are slowly weaning him there as well.  He likes his new sippy cup because he can hold it & drink from it so easily, but still prefers his milk from a bottle.  Change is hard for me, too, so I'm trying to be as patient as I can with little E.  Hopefully one day soon he will drink exclusively from his sippy cup & only whole milk!

Brushing Ethan's Teeth!

Today was the 1st day Ethan has had his teeth brushed with infant toothpaste & a finger brush.  We've been told to use a washcloth up until he got his 8th tooth.  Well, now he had 8 teeth & is ready for a big boy step. I'm not sure he really liked it, though.  The berry flavor probably helped him better handle me brushing Ethan's teeth!

Phineas and Ferb LIVE!

Tonight, Josiah went to Phineas and Ferb LIVE!
This is one of Josiah's favorite TV shows & their live show came to Knoxville for the weekend.

Josiah's friend, Zack, invited him to go with him & his family to see the show.  Josiah was so excited he could barely stay calm.  He even wore his Phineas & Ferb T-Shirt.  He had such a great time & I never thought he'd calm down & go to sleep.  He loved Phineas & Ferb LIVE!

Tooth #8!

Ethan got tooth #8 today!  It is to his left of the bottom three teeth he already has.  So, he has 4 on the top & 4 on the bottom now.  Congrats, Ethan, on tooth #8!

Happy Valentine's Day 2013!

Today is Valentine's Day!  Dustin & I made a promise years ago that we didn't want to get caught up in the exchange of presents on Valentine's Day, but wanted to spend the day celebrating the loves in our lives.  So, we simply spend the day with those we love.

Dustin wanted to take me out to lunch today & Ethan tagged along!  :)
We exchanged cards & Dustin even gave me a pack of Hershey bars...my favorite!

For dinner tonight, we had a heart shaped pizza!

Josiah has loved this tradition for years.  We then all ate our pizza, salad & fruit in the living room while watching a Valentine's Day video.

After dinner, Josiah wanted to go through his school Valentine's box.  He bought Lego Star Wars Valentines for him to give to his classmates.  So, he wanted to decorate his box like Star Wars & wear his Lego Star Wars shirt to school.  He was so proud of his artwork.

He then went through his box & we read all the cards & looked at all the toys & candy.
Josiah also made a Valentine's card for us at school.  It was so very sweet!

We then opened our package from Granddaddy & Grandma Moody.  They sent Dustin & I a card with some money in it.  Ethan then opened his present from them.

Ethan got a Little People Farm book, a Curious George book & $1.

Josiah opened his present from them next.

He got an Angry Birds Star Wars coloring book, Dirty Joe the Pirate book & $1.
Thanks Granddaddy & Grandma for sending us all some goodies!!

Dustin & I then gave our boys their Valentine's present.  Ethan went first.

We gave Ethan some things that were needed.  He got 3 pair of pants, a shirt & some new sippy cups for starting Whole Milk in the next few days!

Josiah opened his present next.  We gave him a Nintendo 3DS Messenger Bag.  This bag holds 60 DS games, his 3DS console & all of his accessories.

We even hid some gifts inside the pockets.  In one pocket Josiah found a Hershey bar (his favorite).  In the other, he found tickets to the Circus next weekend.  He was so excited!

Here is Josiah with his Valentine's Day surprises from me & Dustin!  He really liked them.

What a wonderful day to celebrate our family.  Dustin & I love each other & love these boys more than words can say.  We are so blessed!  Happy Valentine's Day 2013!
