Josiah Got His Cast Today!

Josiah finally got his cast today!

He was so excited when the doctor said he could get it.  He didn't think he was going to get to because it looked like his fingers were still a little swollen.  He cheered!

When we got home, we gave him a Star Wars Lego set for being so still & patient all week while his swelling was going down.  We then each signed our names to his cast.

Josiah is thrilled that his wrist is protected & he can begin moving around again.  Even Ethan was happy for "Josidry's arm ow!"  We are all happy Josiah got his cast today!

So Brave!

Josiah went to Dollywood for the day with friends from school.

Josie, Zack, Mason & Josiah were all having fun until Josiah fell off the rail waiting in line for the next ride.  He landed on his head & tried to block his fall by putting his hand out.  After trying to calm him down & cheer him up, Zack's Mom decided to bring Josiah home.

When he arrived home, he was still hurting & his arm was quite swollen.  I took him to the pediatrician's office, where they did x-rays to see what was wrong.

Josiah has 2 broken bones.  He broke his radius bone (left picture) & his ulna bone (right picture). Apparently breaking the wrist is much worse than a bone in your arm.  If you are having trouble seeing the x-rays, click on the pictures for a closer look.

Josiah was trying so hard to be brave & positive while we were at 2 different doctor's offices.

His arm is too swollen to get a cast now.  They put a splint on his arm to hold it still until the swelling goes down.  He is to be immobilized until he can get his cast on.  So, we would appreciate all of your prayers to keep him happy & positive during his summer vacation with a broken arm.  I am so proud of this little man for being so brave!

Floodline School's Out Party!

Tonight we had our annual Floodline School's Out Party!

The Clevenger family was so wonderful to host it for us again!

There was so much yummy food for everyone to enjoy!

Our boys had a blast eating, hanging out & swimming!

Josiah & Kayden Clevenger spent most of their time in the pool together!

Ethan spent most of his time in the pool with Daddy!

I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time at the Floodline School's Out Party!

Josiah's Last Day of 2nd Grade!

Today was Josiah's last day of 2nd Grade & it was only a half a day of school!

He was so excited to finally be finished with school for the summer.  We celebrated by taking him to Barnes & Noble to pick out 2 books of his choice.  This was a reward for him for working so hard & for doing so well in AR this year.

Ethan didn't mind tagging along because he got to play on their train table.

After Barnes & Noble, we told Josiah he could pick any where he wanted to go to lunch as a reward for working so hard & doing so well in school.  He chose Cici's pizza.  I find that so funny.  I would choose a fancy restaurant, but not Josiah...just give him some pizza.

We had a wonderful time together celebrating Josiah's last day of 2nd Grade!

Watch Him Play!

I was doing some work around the house today when Ethan asked me to pull up the blinds.

When I returned, I found this little man playing with his cars by the window.
I just love to watch him play!

Future Third Grader!

Today was Josiah's last day of 2nd Grade!
We are so proud of the hard work he's done this year!

I was cleaning out his backpack this afternoon & found this assignment.
Now I really couldn't be more proud of this future third grader!

Congrats, buddy!

Josiah received an award today at his school's Awards Day Ceremony.

He placed 2nd in his entire grade level (out of about 120 students) for Accelerated Reader (AR) having read over 693 books & totaled 433.8 points since the beginning of this school year.  He is also wearing his AR hat to the ceremony showing the hat & pins he earned.

We are so proud of you, Josiah! Congrats, buddy!

Ethan's ENT Visit!

We visited Ethan's ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) doctor today since he's recovering from double ear infections.  These ear infections make #20 & #21.  While we were waiting, my guys were playing cars together on the counter.  It was so sweet I just had to take a picture.

Dr. Ray gave Ethan a thorough check & said his ears were better, but his 2nd set of ear tubes have fallen out of their place & are laying in his ear canal.  He recommended a 3rd set of tubes since these have fallen out & he's already had double ear infections.  He also said his tonsils are inflamed & need to be removed as well.  We weren't quite expecting all of this information, but are trying to stay positive.  We appreciate your prayers for our sweet little man to finally experience healing!  We were hoping for better news at Ethan's ENT visit.

Royal Rangers Council of Achievement!

Tonight was Council of Achievement for all Royal Rangers boys at church!

Josiah & his buddies all worked hard to achieve these certificates & badges.

Josiah was saved for last because he has the most badges earned this quarter.
He earned 21 certificates & 14 badges for his vest.  He couldn't wait to show his friends.

After the ceremony was over, Josiah was able to turn in the beads he earned for prizes.  He bought a drawstring bag, a canteen & a dartboard.

Congratulations, Josiah!  We are so proud of you, your work ethic & love for learning about the Lord. We had a great time at the Royal Rangers Council of Achievement!
