Spring Break Mom/Son Time!

Today was my turn for some Mom/Son Time with Josiah!

We went to see Mr. Peabody & Sherman at the movie theatre.

Josiah was so excited to finally see this movie & to get some Cotton Candy!

Spring Break Dad/Son Time!

Josiah is on Spring Break this week.  Dustin had to work & Josiah wanted to mostly play with his friends & wear pajamas all day.  So, we decided to each take him out one day each.

Dustin took Josiah out for some Dad/Son time at Putt-Putt Golf & Games!

They had a great time playing together...even though Josiah got attacked by a hippo!

They even played games inside once their golf game was over.  Josiah won some space ships to bring home.  They had a blast at Spring Break Dad/Son Time.

This weekend, Patrick Holden & Emily Chenoweth got married.  Their wedding was in Ohio, so we all couldn't go, but Dustin was one of the groomsmen.

The boys wanted to say goodnight to Daddy, so I sent him their picture at bedtime.

Dustin sent back a picture of him, Patrick & Emily during the reception.

Baby Baylor is here!

Baylor Ryan Schwenzer was born today to our friends & youth leaders, Brittany & Ryan.

We are so excited that baby Baylor is here!

Winterfest 2014!

Winterfest 2014 is here again in Knoxville, TN (Friday-Sunday).

Dustin was in charge of the Winterfest Usher Team again this year.  These are some of our wonderful teenagers, youth leaders & adults from our church who volunteered their time.

This morning, Dustin took Josiah to his very first Winterfest service.  Josiah has always heard about Winterfest, but we didn't feel he was old enough to go yet.

Josiah was so excited to get to go & to get a backstage pass.  He thought he was so important.  He also got to meet "Propaganda" backstage.  He was one of the ministers there.

After Winterfest, Josiah came home & emptied his piggy bank.  They took up an offering at Winterfest for children in Africa.  Josiah was so moved that he wanted to donate all of his money to the YWEA Africa fund.  We are so proud of him & the decisions he made at Winterfest 2014!

Spontaneous Family Movie Night!

We don't normally watch movies on school nights, but decided tonight to have a spontaneous family movie night!  We even ordered a pizza to go with it!

Ethan needed a front row seat for the movie!  So cute!

Josiah needed a back row bed for the movie!  So funny!

Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby 2014!

Tonight was the annual Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby at our church!

I had a great time hanging with my little man during the races.

He also had a great time hanging with his friends while watching the races.

Each child's car raced about 5 times against different opponents.  Josiah's car did really well.  He won for 5th place in the Speed category against 15 other cars.  I think that's pretty good!

Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby Build Day!

Dustin took Josiah to the Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby Build Day today at church!  This is the day where all the kids come together to build their cars for the big Pinewood Derby race this coming Wednesday night.  They were both pretty excited about going to work on this.  

I love that Dustin allows Josiah to pick out his own shape & size of his car.  He also allows him to decorate it in any way he chooses.  Dustin is there to help in any way he can.  Josiah's worked hard & his car is super colorful this year & he was very precise in explaining to me exactly what everything is.  He is very proud of his car & had a great time with his Dad at the Royal Rangers Pinewood Derby Build Day!

Silly Seuss Day!

In honor of Dr. Seuss' 110th Birthday, Josiah's school had Silly Seuss Day!

The kids were challenged to dress as silly as they can, in keeping with the dress code.  They were also challenged to incorporate stripes in as much of their wardrobe as they could.

If you know Josiah, the sillier the better, but it also had to match.  WOW!  What a challenge for Mom.  So, I pieced together some clothes & socks that had both stripes & similar colors in them.  He asked me to add one more stripe to the mix...his hair.  He wanted a Mohawk.  How funny!  I think Josiah succeeded in looking completely silly for school today.  Let's hope the other students decided to dress up as well!  Happy Silly Seuss Day!

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!

We gave Josiah "The Chronicles of Narnia" book set for his birthday this year.  He has already thoroughly enjoyed reading the first five books.  These books are close to 6th Grade level & he is reading them in 2nd Grade.  We are so proud of him!

To celebrate, we watched the movie of the fifth book in the series.  Josiah really enjoyed seeing "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!"
