Josiah's First Day of 4/5 yr. Preschool!

Today was Josiah's 1st day of his 2nd year of preschool!

He woke up early this morning excited & ready to go! We took pictures in the same spots & positions as last year. He was really eager to get to school!

I took the same picture last year of Dustin & Josiah walking through these very doors & Josiah was shorter than the push handles. This year he is taller than them. Wow...he has really grown.

Josiah walked right into his classroom & got settled with friends immediately. He met two new girl friends while playing with Play-Doh. Then, his friend, Nicole, got to class & he was really excited to see her. Sam & Asher arrived & they began building something on the tool bench & playing with the doctor toys.

Dustin & I walked down the hallway where they fed all of the parents a delicious brunch & went through the Parent Handbook with us. Then, we headed back to the classroom for a parent orientation with Josiah's teacher. The children sat there so nicely & ate a snack while she introduced us to her teaching style.

We are really excited about Josiah's new school year. His teacher & classmates are wonderful. We can't wait to see what wonderful things God has in store for his year.

Z is for Zebra!

We've made it to the end of the alphabet!!!! We finished working with the letter Z today...just in time, too. Josiah starts his 2nd year of Preschool tomorrow.

We decided to do a little Zebra art work to honor the letter Z. We began by talking about what kind of habitat Josiah thought a Zebra would live in. He said he wanted his Zebra to live in the jungle. He drew grass, flowers & a tree for his Zebra to enjoy.

He then decided to glue his white Zebra on the page so he could eat from the tree. Once he had glued the Zebra, he began gluing black stripes for him.

Y is for Yummy Yogurt!

We are reaching the end of our summer vacation & are almost finished learning every letter of alphabet. Today we finished the letter Y. So, we made Yummy Yogurt!

Josiah poured the strawberries & sugar into the blender for the frozen Yogurt. He then mixed the rest of the ingredients in a separate bowl.

He crushed the strawberries in the blender, poured the mixture in & pressed the button.

Then, he poured the frozen Yogurt into the serving bowls & into a Tupperware container for later. We then sat down & enjoyed some YUMMY YOGURT!!!!

X is for Xylophone!

Today we finished learning the letter X by making a Xylophone. Josiah has a Xylophone & enjoys playing it. So, we made one similar to it. He began the craft by ordering the multi-colored bars from smallest to largest.

He then glued the bars on from largest to smallest. So, he's even learning while he's making a craft.

He finished his X craft by gluing the two mallets on the Xylophone in the form of an X.

What an eXtraordinary Xylophone!

The Godfather Cometh!

This week we had the pleasure of having an out of town visitor with us. Josh Turner is not only one of our best friends, but he & his wife, Sara, are also Josiah's Godparents.

Josh took a 5 day vacation to Seattle to spend some time in prayer & reflection before starting a busy school year in ministry. We were so excited when he called to ask if he could stay. Josh spent quite a bit of time alone, but also spent a lot of time with us touring the city. He spent a day at Mt. Rainier, a guys day with Dustin at Snoqualmie Falls, dinner & a movie. One afternoon, the four of us visited the Seattle Center.

We spent some time around the Space Needle. Josiah loves visiting their fountain. Well today he decided to walk straight into the line of fire...well...water. He got SOAKING wet & we had only been at the Seattle Center for about 10 minutes with a full afternoon ahead of us. He immediately took his shirt off & wanted to be "bare-chested boy." Ha! He then chased pigeons & seagulls around the fountain for a while & then took a break by chillin alone across the park. He's so funny!

After the fountain, we spent some time at Fun Forest so he could ride some rides.

He rode the Snow Convoy, the rollercoaster, the pirate ship, the fire trucks & then took two slides down the huge indoor slide.

After we finished looking at everything at the Seattle Center, we hopped on the Monorail & rode down to Westlake Center in Seattle. This is a huge mall! Well...being with 3 guys, I was outnumbered at the shopping thing. So, we took a walk down the beautiful downtown streets of Seattle to Pike's Place Public Market.

We had a great time with Josh this week & Josiah DID NOT want him to leave. We feel very honored that Josh would choose to spend his week off with our family. We all love him so much & pray God's blessings upon his family, his ministry & his year!

HSCC Night at the Aquasox Game!

Tonight was HSCC Night at the Aquasox game. This game was a last minute idea, so not many people came, but we still had a BLAST!

Here we are sitting watching the game. It's was tons of fun & had great music!

Josiah loved the frog mascot. He looked for him everywhere during the entire game.

After a while, Josiah starting getting cold & tired. I didn't mind, because he wanted to come cuddle with Mom under the blanket. I loved that! He quickly got his energy back when it was time for the 7th inning stretch. He had asked all night when the stretch time was going to be. It's so funny the things kids love.

After the game was over, Josiah asked if he could go out on the field. Not only did they let him come out on the field, but one of the players signed & gave him a baseball from the game. He was SOOO excited & so proud of that ball.

What a great night for a ballgame!

Preschool Open House!

This morning, Josiah's preschool held an Open House to allow the students to meet their new teachers. We are VERY happy with Josiah's new teacher. Her name is Teacher Kimi (right). She has such a sweet & tender spirit. His assistant is Teacher Becky (left). She, too, is sweet. Josiah seemed to really like them & his new classroom. We are very excited about a new school year!

W is for Watermelon!

Tonight we doubled up lessons & finished the letter W.

Josiah made a Watermelon to celebrate. He cut out a green template & then a smaller pink template. He then glued the pink on top of the green.

Next, he glued black triangles all over the Watermelon & folded it in half.

What a Wonderful Watermelon!
