A Different Halloween Weekend!

This weekend turned out a little different than we had planned. Last Sunday my Dad (Carla's) had a heart attack. He was supposed to have open heart surgery, so I quickly flew to North Carolina to be with the family. Thankfully, Dad did not have open heart surgery & is doing well. We are so thankful to God for working a miracle in his body.

I left my two guys in Washington State for the weekend. I know it was good for them to have some Father/Son time together.

On Friday, Josiah had Orange Day at Preschool. He said they did orange crafts & had orange snacks. What fun!

On Saturday, the guys had a PJ day & carved Josiah's pumpkin into a Jack-O-Lantern.

They decided on a smiley face & drew it on the pumpkin. Josiah then scooped the gook out & sorted the seeds.

Josiah washed the pumpkin seeds & they roasted them. Yum! Josiah was so excited to see the finished product!

On Sunday, my guys came & picked me up from the airport. They were so happy to see me & I was so happy to see them.

When I walked into the house, I was welcomed with a banner hanging from my guys. They drew pictures for me on my banner.

We all laid down for an afternoon nap before we got up to get dressed for Halloween! So, it was a good weekend for everyone, full of miracles, but it was a different Halloween weekend!

Girls Night Out!

I had such a great time tonight with some wonderful ladies. It had been so long since I just went out to have some fun. So, I talked to some of my girl friends about going out on the town. We met tonight at Macaroni Grill for a nice dinner together. We talked & talked & didn't want to leave. When we left, we went to see "Life As We Know It" at the theater. It was such a sweet love story. We then went to Claim Jumpers to eat their HUGE chocolate cake for dessert. We talked & laughed so much that we didn't even realize the whole restaurant was empty. Our server was even gone for the night. We had to make ourselves stop talking & go home.

Thanks Sara, Lilly, Jessie, Lea, Chree, Lisa, Carly & Lori for a fantastic Girls Night Out!

The Great Pumpkin Patch!

Today was Josiah's Preschool Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Dustin took off work so we could go together as a family

We always enjoy going to this farm. There is so much to do.

We had a blast on the hay ride. Josiah was making me laugh so hard.

We enjoyed spending time with our wonderful friends while we were there.

Josiah walked through the pumpkin patch & quickly picked the perfect pumpkin. At the end of our trip, we went to the farm playground to have some fun.

Josiah played in the corn kernels, raced some ducks & dug in the sand.

We had a fabulous time at the great Pumpkin Patch!

Put a Smile on your Face!

Josiah has never had a good dental experience...until today!

Today was our first visit to Dr. Sun's pediatric dentist office.

This office was really child friendly. They had a playroom in the waiting area & TVs that were playing movies on the ceiling while his teeth were cleaned.

Josiah laid right down & put his super cool sunglasses on. She put headphones on his head & started the movie for him.

Dr. Sun soon came over & started working on his teeth. He has super healthy teeth & will now start flossing daily. Dr. Sun seemed very pleased with his teeth & Josiah was very pleased with this experience! Josiah came home with a Smile on his Face!

Happy 33rd Birthday, Carla!

Today was a great day! Today was my 33rd birthday!

My boys got up this morning, cooked breakfast & hung paintings from my Josiah all over the kitchen.

They made me pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon & oranges for breakfast! YUM!

After breakfast the boys joined forces to bake me a Triple Chocolate Cake...my favorite!

I feel so blessed to have two amazing men in my life.

They sure do know how to make a girl feel special.

After getting ready for the day, I came into the living room to find presents & mail from friends & family.

I had such a great time opening presents. I laughed & even cried over the sweet gestures made by the ones I love.

Here are the wonderful cards & gifts I received.

Once we cleaned up the present mess, my guys brought the cake in & sang Happy Birthday to me. It was DELICIOUS!!!

I chose to spend the day shopping at University Village...my favorite mall in Seattle. Chris gave me a gift card to Crate & Barrel. Here is a picture of the items I bought there. I also bought some jeans & a nice shirt with the birthday money my parents sent. I loved shopping all day. Thank goodness for the playground at this mall. Josiah & Dustin were able to go spend some time there while I did my girl thing.

For dinner, we went to Olive Garden. Chris sent us a gift card to celebrate together there. It was delicious, too. We ended my special day by having more birthday cake, ice cream & playing Mario Kart.

I had such a wonderful day. Thank you to everyone who made it so special.

What a great 33rd Birthday!
