He Got His Cast Off!

Josiah is finally free from a cast!

He was so excited to find out that his wrist has healed better than expected!

As soon as we left the doctor's office, I took Josiah to get him a cherry Icee.  He loves those things.  Then, when we got home, Dustin & I gave him a new Lego set to celebrate his freedom.  He loves Legos, too!  We are so happy for Josiah to he got his cast off!

Hanging out with his Buddies!

Yesterday, we had Luke & Aaron over for a playdate.  They had a great time hanging out at the house, playing with toys, watching movies & playing video games.

Today, Josiah hung out with Luke & Aaron again.  Their mom took them to the movies & then to lunch at Chick-Fil-A.  Josiah loves hanging out with his buddies!

Real Cereal!

This morning Ethan had his 1st bowl of real cereal at home.  He loves it & feels like such a big boy.  He's been on baby cereal for so long because it's better for him after surgery.  Once you quit, they don't ever want it again.  So, we kept him eating it in case he'd have to have another surgery.  Now he doesn't need another surgery, so we're done.  He loves real cereal!

Happy 4th of July!

The Haward family had us over tonight for a 4th of July Cookout!

Ethan & Naomi had a great time getting SOAKING WET!

Josiah joined in for a few minutes & wanted to squirt everyone with water guns.

Once everyone was dry (Ethan & Naomi had to change clothes), the kids went downstairs & played in the playroom.

Towards the end of the night, Naomi decided it was time for some cereal.  So, Ethan had his very first bowl of real cereal.  We've kept him on baby cereal for so long now because he always has to eat soft cereal after surgeries.  Now that he doesn't need surgery is the perfect time to graduate to...Froot Loops!  He loved every bite!

We thoroughly enjoyed the great food, fun, laughter & fellowship with the Haward & Speed families tonight.  We hope you all had a safe & Happy 4th of July!

Josiah's First Youth Camp!

This week was Josiah's first trip to youth camp.  We are thrilled that his first experience is at Signal Mountain.  We've sent so many teenagers to this youth camp from our time as Youth Pastors at North Cleveland Church of God & now Park West Church of God.  Dustin goes to this camp every summer to serve, minister & has even preached there 5 times.

Josiah spent his week in Cabin B4.

These are his cabin mates.  Some were from our church & some weren't.

This is a group picture of all the campers from Park West Church.

Day One: Orientation!

They had all kinds of fun things at the camp for them to do!

Worship Service Day One:  Pastor Jeremy sent us a picture of Josiah down front worshiping during the altar call.  This picture is priceless!

Day Two: Breakfast & Paintball!

Color Run!

Swimming & a Worship Service!

After service, they played Disco Gaga Ball.  Plus Josiah got picked up by Tim Cushman, the TN State Youth Director & Dustin's personal friend.  This was super cool to Josiah because Tim is the director of the camp & he got to ride around in his golf cart.  Also, Jeremy Guyselman, the director's assistant, & also friend of Dustin's, drove Josiah around in his golf cart.  This was a highlight for him!  He felt special!

Day Three: Silly faces & Go-carts (he got to race against Caleb, one of our youth leaders)!

Lunch Time & Snack Time with his buddies!

Slip & Slide, Wipe-Out & more Swimming!

The last evening service.  Josiah says he really feels like he was challenged to "Become" more like Jesus this week.  Each child received a bracelet with one word on it.  His word was "Become."  This couldn't have been more perfect for him.  We've really been talking to & praying for him to realize who God wants him to become instead of what others think.

We were so happy to see this sweet face get off the bus this morning!

Especially Ethan.  He always called Josiah, "Josi-dry" before he left for camp.  The morning he left, Ethan kept calling, "Josiah. Josiah" in the car & around the house.

I am so thankful for the experience Josiah had at camp.  He had a great time playing with friends, his cast protected him & he had an encounter with God that I pray will stay with him for the rest of his life.  I am loving hearing all about Josiah's first youth camp!

Ethan had a playdate today with his buddies, Ben & Lizzie!
I think you can tell that they had a great time at the playdate!
