This week was Josiah's first trip to youth camp. We are thrilled that his first experience is at Signal Mountain. We've sent so many teenagers to this youth camp from our time as Youth Pastors at North Cleveland Church of God & now Park West Church of God. Dustin goes to this camp every summer to serve, minister & has even preached there 5 times.
Josiah spent his week in Cabin B4.
These are his cabin mates. Some were from our church & some weren't.
This is a group picture of all the campers from Park West Church.
Day One: Orientation!
They had all kinds of fun things at the camp for them to do!
Worship Service Day One: Pastor Jeremy sent us a picture of Josiah down front worshiping during the altar call. This picture is priceless!
Day Two: Breakfast & Paintball!
Color Run!
Swimming & a Worship Service!
After service, they played Disco Gaga Ball. Plus Josiah got picked up by Tim Cushman, the TN State Youth Director & Dustin's personal friend. This was super cool to Josiah because Tim is the director of the camp & he got to ride around in his golf cart. Also, Jeremy Guyselman, the director's assistant, & also friend of Dustin's, drove Josiah around in his golf cart. This was a highlight for him! He felt special!
Day Three: Silly faces & Go-carts (he got to race against Caleb, one of our youth leaders)!
Lunch Time & Snack Time with his buddies!
Slip & Slide, Wipe-Out & more Swimming!
The last evening service. Josiah says he really feels like he was challenged to "Become" more like Jesus this week. Each child received a bracelet with one word on it. His word was "Become." This couldn't have been more perfect for him. We've really been talking to & praying for him to realize who God wants him to become instead of what others think.
We were so happy to see this sweet face get off the bus this morning!
Especially Ethan. He always called Josiah, "Josi-dry" before he left for camp. The morning he left, Ethan kept calling, "Josiah. Josiah" in the car & around the house.
I am so thankful for the experience Josiah had at camp. He had a great time playing with friends, his cast protected him & he had an encounter with God that I pray will stay with him for the rest of his life. I am loving hearing all about Josiah's first youth camp!
