Guatemala Missions Trip Day 6!

Day 6 - What a beautiful, God-honoring day! We started off at Palabra de Vida (Word of Life), to help the Corderos in any way possible. We ended up leading the children's ministry, helping in the nursery, taking the teens to a local park, and sharing testimonies. Then Pastor Jonathan preached a fantastic message, encouraging Palabra de Vida, like Joshua, to take the land of Chiquimula for Christ! After lunch we drove to Jocatan again and held a block party/street concert for the 3rd anniversary of Colegio El Olam. Hundreds of people turned out for music, dramas, testimonies, a little street soccer and even cake. Keep those prayers coming! God is SO good!

Guatemala Missions Trip Day 5!

Day 5 - Simply astounding! We often hear people talk about "unreached people groups," but today we visited one. The morning started off with a wonderful parade through the streets of Jocatan, as representatives of the school there, started by the Corderos. But after lunch we headed up to another remote, mountain village. These people had NEVER been visited by outsiders, much less white, American Christians. And most likely they had NEVER been presented the Gospel message. What a joy & honor!!! We did a few simple dramas, shared a few testimonies, told the people of God's endless love, & then gave out food &toys. It was simply astounding! Again, thank you SO much for your prayerful, loving support! We need it & feel it!

Guatemala Missions Trip Day 4!

Day 4 - Today was rather groundbreaking. This week is an anniversary celebration of Colegio El Olam (the Cordero's school), so there are a lot of activities in its honor. One of those, that we got to participate in today, was a Parents' Day. Pastor Jonathan was given the honor of speaking to about 30 parents that showed up. Then the parents were separated into 3 groups and rotated through 3 "stations" that encouraged and equipped them to be better fathers, mothers, husbands and wives. It was amazing! And, of course, we spent hours with the children, playing soccer, tag, building sand castles, etc. God is doing great things! Thank you for your prayers!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Today was Grandma's Birthday!  We are so happy we got the spend the day with her.

She wanted brownies & homemade ice cream as her birthday dessert.  We even put a candle in her dessert.  Ha!  Ethan even got a candle to blow out & loved his dessert.

For dinner, we took Grandma to Olive Garden & had a great time.  After dinner, Ethan & Grandma played games on her iPad.  This always makes Ethan happy.

We had a great day celebrating today.  Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Guatemala Missions Trip Day 3!

Day 3 - Phenomenal!  That's the only way to describe the village run we took today.  We drove WAY up into a remote, mountain village to deliver food, shoes, toys & candy.  This is a group of people that Global Infusion has visited multiple times over the last several years, and has built a wonderful relationship with. The people were extremely happy to see us and very receptive. We're thrilled already and there's so much yet to come! Praise God!

Guatemala Missions Trip Day 2!

Day 2 - Today was wonderful!  We spent the morning leading a "Field Day" with about 100 amazing children, from preschool through middle school.  It was VERY hot, but those kids loved every minute of the fun and games.  The afternoon was spent preparing food bags and the evening was taken up by drama and music practices for later in the week.  What an adventure! We're so blessed! Keep those prayers coming!

Granddaddy & Grandma Are Here!

Granddaddy & Grandma Moody came today to hang out with me & Ethan while Dustin & Josiah are in Guatemala.  Of course they brought toys when they came!

They brought "Bob Cutlass" & "Darrell Cartrip" cars from the movie "Cars."  He loves it when Granddaddy & Grandma are here!

Guatemala Missions Trip Day 1!

I will be posting Dustin's descriptions from the Guatemala trip in the next few blogs! Enjoy!

Day 1 - It was a loooong, but great travel day. We flew to Guatemala City (via Houston) and then drove up the winding, mountain roads to the smaller city of Chiquimula.  The rest of our team, who has already been here for a week, welcomed us with cheering and hugs. Pastor Oseas, Jane and their 3 children also greeted us very warmly. Thank you so much for all your prayers as we embark on this trip of a lifetime! Please keep them coming! We love you all!

Guatemala Bound!

My two guys left for Guatemala this morning.  This is Dustin's second time going there & it's Josiah's very first mission's trip ever!  It's also his first time out of the country!

We all got up this morning to go see them off.  Of course they all needed to wear their matching Guatemala soccer jerseys Dustin bought 2 years ago.  So cute!

It was bitter sweet to say goodbye!  I'm thrilled for them & hope one day we'll all go!

Please pray for this team as they go minister for the Lord.  16 from our church left today & 10 left last week to help prepare the way.  I'm so excited they are Guatemala bound!

Guatemala Team Building Day!

Dustin & Josiah went today to a team building day for their trip to Guatemala.

They did all kinds of activities to help everyone get to know & trust one another.  They both learned a lot & had a good time at their Guatemala Team Building Day!
