Playing in the Snow!

We've had a very snowy few weeks & we're taking advantage of it.

We went out today to let our boys have fun in the snow.

We had a great time sledding.

This was Ethan's very first time sledding.

He loved it.  Mommy even had some fun sledding as well.

My guys even got a little dramatic...crashing into fences & falling off the sled.

Ethan's favorite part was dragging his wagon around the yard & shoveling snow inside.  The wagon eventually got heavy & was hard to pull, but Mr. Independent didn't want any help.  What a fun day we had playing in the snow!

Chess

Josiah has a very strategic mind & his math teacher thought he'd be a very skilled chess player.  She suggested we teach him to play.

This afternoon, Dustin sat down & taught Josiah how to play chess.

They had such a great time together.  We thought he'd have to teach slowly & eventually over time, he might get the hang of it.  We didn't expect him to catch on as quickly as he did.  They played four or five games together & he did fantastic.  Josiah loves chess!

Circus!

Dustin & I were supposed to go out of town to a Marriage Retreat this weekend, but were unable to go.  So, we decided to take our boys to the circus instead.

We love going to Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus.

This was Ethan's very first circus experience & he loved it!

We always spend Valentine's Day celebrating each other as a family.  We began the day by having a yummy breakfast together.  We had coffee cake, eggs, bacon & fruit.

The boys then opened a package from Uncle Chris.  He sent them Cheryl's cookies.  Yum!

Granddaddy & Grandma sent cute cards to the boys with money in it!

Granddaddy & Grandma also sent me & Dustin a beautiful card with a check inside.

We then gave the boys their annual Valentine's Day envelope.  Each year we give the boys an experience instead of gifts since they've had enough for a few months.  Inside the envelope is the schedule for their Valentine's Day of fun!

The boys were both super excited to hear about the fun we'll have.

They then tore into the heart shaped cookies Uncle Chris sent.

After getting dressed for the day, we went to Fuddruckers for some burgers & fries.

Happy Valentine's Day to my love.

This is our 19th Valentine's Day together!!

We are a crazy crew!

After lunch we went to see "The Penguins of Madagascar!"

The movie was really funny.

Both of our boys really enjoy seeing it.

After nap time, we baked our annual heart shaped pizza for dinner.

We ate dinner in the living room while watching "Clifford's Valentine's Day!"

We ended our night of love by eating another one of the heart shaped cookies.

Josiah's third grade class celebrated Valentine's Day today.

Here are the Valentines he received from his sweet friends.  They had fun exchanging cards & eating their treats.  Josiah really enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day at school.

Our friends Graham & Lin had several couples & their kids over to watch the Super Bowl.
