Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

We began our Easter Sunday by continuing to read the Biblical story of Easter.
The boys loved seeing Jesus alive!

We then went downstairs to celebrate by tearing into our Easter baskets.

We love these two more than words can express.

These two cuties love opening presents & Easter eggs.

I love the way their face lights up when they see what they've gotten.

Somehow they never think we know what they want & we get it right most of the time.

Love these funny faces!

Josiah's Easter basket gifts (mostly video game accessories).

Ethan's Easter basket gifts (mostly toys from his favorite movies).

I love our sweet little family so much!

While Dustin & I were preparing breakfast, these two put their gifts to good use.

Our family enjoyed attending Easter Sunday church service.

Love these two!

After church, we continued our annual tradition of a picnic &

an Easter egg hunt!

Ethan understood what to do this year, so it made it extra fun.

Josiah was so sweet to pick up a few & leave a few for his little brother.

They had a great time & got a ton of Easter eggs.

We then went through the Easter eggs to see what they got.

They got candy, stickers, cars, confetti poppers, & money in their Easter eggs.

Papa & Meme sent them money to celebrate the day!  Thank you!

Granddaddy & Grandma also sent money to celebrate.  Thank you!

Once our family time was over, several neighborhood children came out to play.

The boys cruised around the neighborhood on their Power Wheels toys.

After lots of fun outside, we came inside, got comfy and watched "Big Hero 6."

What a fun day!  Thank you, Jesus, that we can celebrate your life in such a fun way.  Thank you for your sacrifice on the cross for our lives & to cover our sins.  Happy Easter!

Good Friday!

We ended our Good Friday by reading the Biblical story of Easter Week from Ethan's Bible.  We stopped after the crucifixion story & discussed what Jesus did for us.

We then showed the boys a new chalkboard.  On the chalkboard we listed all the things that we as a family really feel led to pray for in the coming week.  We talked about how we can better show the love of Jesus when we spend time with Him & once we give our needs to Him.  We made our list & then hung it in our kitchen so we could pray over the needs at every meal.

We could never thank Jesus enough for what He did for us that day on the cross.  We are eternally grateful for His sacrifice.  We're thankful for Good Friday!

Toddler Bed!

Ethan is growing up.  He's growing up a little faster than I want him to.  In this picture, he is standing in front of his crib for the last time.  I keep putting off converting his crib into a toddler bed, but it's time.  I know he's ready, but I'm not sure I am.

Ethan ran downstairs to get his tools to help Daddy change his crib.  Once the front crib rail was off the crib he was so excited!!

He couldn't stop getting in & out, in & out.  He was shouting & celebrating!

We then tucked him in his toddler bed for nap time.  We reminded him that to be a big boy, he needs to act like one.  Big boys stay in their bed & get good sleep.  He agreed.

Ethan napped great.  He never got out of his toddler bed once.  What a good boy!
Ethan is so happy to now have a toddler bed!

Good Friday Breakfast!

Today is Good Friday.  The day we honor & recognize the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross.  Josiah has today off school, so we decided to honor & celebrate the day.  We slept in & then went to IHOP for breakfast.

Every time we go to IHOP, these two guys play the squares game.  I'm not sure what it's called, but they love to play it every time we go.  They are super competitive.

Ethan & I, on the other hand, are goofy!  We took tons of pictures of ourselves being silly.  Then, the real excitement came when breakfast was served.  Pancakes!!  Yummy!  We enjoyed ourselves at our Good Friday Breakfast!
