Floodline Farewell!

Our family said goodbye to Floodline tonight!
They threw us an amazing farewell party!

When we arrived, everyone was invited into the Teen Sanctuary.

Our leaders & students laid hands on us & prayed over our family & our future.

That was a very special time of prayer & a great way to start our party.

Our leaders had decorated so nicely.

They had tables set up for our students to have ways to say goodbye to us.  They had cards for everyone to write a goodbye note.  They also had other items that could be signed.

These are the cards we received from our students & leaders.
They also gave us a Corn-hole board that everyone had signed.

They gave us a Floodline T-shirt with everyone's signature on it.

They also made a Floodline photo album of all four years of ministry.  This photo album even included photos from tonight's party.  They had them printed while we were partying.

Our female youth leaders.

Most of our male youth leaders (& their kids).

They even had a photo booth at the party where you could dress up & be silly.

Our family has no trouble being silly.

Josiah even had a few church friends show up for the party.

We had such a wonderful night tonight.  We want to thank our entire leadership team for working so hard to bless our family.  We love you all!!  Thanks for the Floodline Farewell!

Congratulations, Alex!

Dustin had the honor of baptizing one of our High School students today.

Alex Walker is a junior in High School & has wanted to get baptized for some time, but wasn't ready to take the step.  This past week, his Dad contacted Dustin saying Alex really wanted Dustin to baptize him while he was still his youth pastor.  Dustin had the amazing opportunity of baptizing him this morning.  We are so proud of Alex for taking such an important step in his faith walk.  Congratulations, Alex!

3rd Grade Musical!

Tonight we went to Josiah's 3rd Grade Musical at school!

He was pretty excited & so were his friends.

Our whole family went to cheer him on!

The musical, "The Principal & the Pea," was very funny & cute!

Afterwards, we took Josiah to McDonalds for a treat!  Congratulations, Josiah.  You've almost completed 3rd Grade & we loved your 3rd Grade Musical!

Date Night!

Dustin & I got to go on a date tonight!  The Haward family so generously volunteered to have our kids over to play after school until bedtime.  Dustin & I had a great time.  We stayed home & watched a couple of TV shows without interruption & then went to Olive Garden for dinner.  We were given a gift card recently & it covered our entire meal & dessert.  FREE Date Night.  As Ethan would say, "Dats what I talking about!"  We had a great date night!

Take Courage!

Dear family & friends,

For the past four years, we have served as the High School Pastors at Park West Church in Knoxville, TN. It has been such a privilege to serve these amazing students & their families. But now, after four wonderful years together, the Lord is moving our family to a new area of ministry.

God has done some miraculous things lately, but the best is yet to come...for the High School Ministry, for our family & for our future ministry.  We have all learned so much from each other over the past four years.  Just last week we had our high school students share "their stories" of what God has done in their lives lately.  We were so inspired by the choices these students are making at such a critical age.  Tonight, Dustin shared "his story" of what God has been doing in us lately & will be doing in us in the future.  He shared about how often our stories take great courage (Matthew 14:22-27 "Jesus Walks on the Water").

Our family is stepping out of the boat to meet Jesus, so to speak, & trusting that God will take care of the rest.  We are choosing to have courage & faith to follow the Master's voice into uncharted waters.  God has been preparing our hearts for some time now to move back into adult ministry.  We do not yet know how that will look, but we know to step out.  With this type of faith there comes great uncertainty & we covet your prayers.  To be honest, there’s a little excitement here too, as we sense the Lord doing a brand new, beautiful, kind of thing in us. Truly, His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. We could have never predicted where our path has led to the present, or will lead in the future.

We will always cherish our relationships from Floodline High School Ministry, but know that the timing is right to step out & allow someone else to lead the charge.  “Thank you” just doesn't say enough to our students & their families. We love you all so much! So, we’ll echo the words of the Apostle Paul, and leave these families with this:

When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Father/Son Time!

Today, Dustin took the boys out for some father/son time!

They went to a local park & had a blast.  They rode scooters,

played on the playground,

did some major swinging on the swings,

& played with rocks.  They loved every minute of it.

Dustin then took them to Wendy's for lunch & a Frosty!

These three had some great Father/Son time!

Playdate with Anand!

Josiah had his school friend, Anand come home with him today.

They had a great time together.  They played outside & played video games.

After all the fun playing, we had dinner together.  The boys wanted pizza, cheesy bread, chips, raspberries & chocolate chips cookies for dessert.  Yummy!

Lunch with Josiah!

I surprised Josiah today by popping into his school to have lunch with him.  He had no idea I was coming & was super excited to see me!

He was really excited to see I brought spicy chicken nuggets, french fries & a Frosty!

It's always so nice when I get to have quality time with one of my boys.
I loved getting to have lunch with Josiah!
