Father/Son Hike!

Today, Dustin & Josiah went on a Father/Son Hike!

It's been a while since these two got to spend some time alone together.

Josiah really enjoyed walking, talking & seeing these HUGE trees that had overturned.

They had a great time in the woods together on their Father/Son hike!

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe!

We gave Josiah "The Chronicles of Narnia" book set for his birthday this year.  He has already thoroughly enjoyed reading the first two books.  These books are close to 6th Grade level & he is reading them in the 2nd Grade.  We are so proud of him!

To celebrate, we watched the movie of the second book in the series.

Josiah really enjoyed seeing "The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe!"

Dinner with the Family!

Today was Josiah's first day back to school after Christmas Break & two snow days!

So, we decided to meet Dustin at "The Cheesecake Factory" for dinner.

While we were eating & enjoying family time, it started snowing outside!

Snow Day!

We all woke up today with about an inch of snow on the ground.  To the neighborhood kids, though, it might as well have been a blizzard.  They couldn't wait to go out & play.

We then invited them all in for lunch & play time.

After lunch, the kids watched a movie & ate popcorn.  When Ethan woke up from his nap, he even ate goldfish sitting beside them.  He thought he was one of the big kids!

You gotta love a snow day!

The boys wore their new matching shirts from Uncle Chris to church today!

They loved matching each other & I love our handsome boys!

Happy 37th Birthday, Dustin!

Today is Dustin's 37th Birthday!

We started the day by going to IHOP for breakfast!  When we returned home it was gift time!

Dustin opened cards with checks inside from both of our sets of parents.  He loves money!

Then he opened the cards & stack of gifts from us.

Ethan, of course, gave Dustin a Mickey Mouse card.  Josiah made a homemade card for Dustin without either of us even knowing he did it or reminding him.  He has a huge heart!

He also gave Dustin a HERO birthday card.  Dustin loved them both!

I then gave him a Superman card & "Man of Steel" the movie.

We also gave him shoes, clothes & movies!

He seemed to love everything we gave him!

After present time, the boys had a blast playing in the wrapping paper & boxes!

After Ethan's nap, we went to Jump Jam to have some family fun!

Josiah has been once before with friends, but we've never been.

We had a blast jumping, balancing, playing dodgeball & realizing quickly just how old we are.

This afternoon, we sat down to have a small birthday party for Dustin.

We baked a chocolate cake for him...

enjoyed eating every bite...

& then acted like crazy people being silly & wrestling on the floor!

Dustin decided he wanted to watch football & have take-out for his birthday dinner.  He chose Pei Wei, which we all love to eat.  We had a fun dinner at home with the boys!

After the boys went to bed, Dustin & I stayed up to watch "Man of Steel" & have more cake.

Happy Birthday to my amazing husband & best friend.  I love you!
