Congratulations Josiah!

Today was Awards Day at Josiah's Elementary School!

Josiah was so excited about going to school today!  He was hoping to get an award.

Josiah was awarded a medal in Mathematics for his hard work this year!  Awesome!

The big award Josiah won today was for Accelerated Reader.  This is a school wide program to help all students advance in Reading.  This program provides points to each student for every book they read & successfully pass a corresponding test on the computer.  The amount of points given for each book is based on the length & level of difficulty for each book.  The top five students in each grade level were called to the stage to receive an award.  We knew Josiah had read 300+ books this year & has a point total of 178, but we didn't know where he fell compared to other students.  They called the 5th place student with 122 points, then the 4th place student with 124 points & then the 3rd place student with 141 points.  Then, the librarian called the 2nd place student with 178 points....JOSIAH LEE!!!!  Congratulations, buddy!  The 1st place student received 226 points.  Wow!  Great readers!

The look on Josiah's face in the above left picture is priceless to me.  He is so proud of himself...you can tell.  We are so proud of him!  Mrs. Sisco, the Librarian, was also proud of Josiah's accomplishments in Reading this year & was happy to give him this ribbon!

Josiah placed 2nd in Accelerated Reader out of around 150 students in his grade level!  Awesome!  The students above are in order from 1st place to 5th place (Left to Right).

Here is Josiah displaying his awards from today's program...so proud!

We are so thankful we were invited to come & celebrate with Josiah this morning.

Here is a program from today's ceremony along with Josiah's two awesome awards!

I am so thankful & proud of all three of the men in my life, but today we are especially proud of Josiah for working so hard all year, getting straight A's & coming home with two awards from today's ceremony.  After tomorrow, he will be a rising 2nd grader.  I can't believe it!
Congratulations Josiah!
