Today was the day our dream became a reality. For a little over a year, my family has been planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World. We have all, especially Josiah, been counting the days until December 13th. Well...that day is here!
Dustin, Josiah & I boarded a plane from Seattle to Orlando this morning. The Disney Magical Express picked us up from the airport & took us straight to the Disney Resort where we were staying.
Disney Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is simply breathtaking. We are right on the Walt Disney World grounds & it is simply beautiful!
Being December, everything is decorated for Christmas & no detail is left out. The lobby is gorgeous!
The villa is perfect for our family..."The Six!" Edward, India, Chris, Dustin, Carla & Josiah make up that six. Our villa has an entry, living room with a sofa bed, full size kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two vanity areas & a laundry closet. It feels like we have an apartment for the week. It's awesome!
The best part of the trip so far is getting to see my family again. It has been 15 months since my family has seen Dustin & Josiah. We saw Chris 12 months ago when he visited Seattle for Josiah's 4th birthday. Then, I saw them back in October when I went to NC to visit Dad in the hospital. So, it is great to finally all be together again.
We began our vacation together with a nice meal at The Turf Club at Disney. The dinner was DELICIOUS! Afterwards, we all ordered dessert. Something special happened, though, for Josiah. He was brought a birthday bowl of ice cream, with three dishes of toppings to cover his ice cream. Chris had told Disney World ahead of time that our family was celebrating my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary & Josiah's 5th Birthday. He felt really special!
After dinner we headed back to our Deluxe Villa & called it a night before the real adventure begins tomorrow!
